Azemmour Plage

Azemmour Plage is an Atlantic, exposed beach-break setting near Azemmour (Haouzia) with clean water and a wide sandy shoreline. Surf is reported as consistent, with waves breaking to both sides (left and right) and multiple peaks along the coast, making it workable for riders who are comfortable with beach-break dynamics. For kitesurfing, the spot is widely described as the primary focus: it combines open ocean wave options with flat-water access inside the river mouth for freestyle. Wind is best from the northwest, and summer conditions are described as particularly reliable, with thermal reinforcement strongest during the afternoon. Typical wind levels reported are in the 15–25 knots range. Surfing is also described as possible, with an exposed nature and peeling wave character. Wind direction matters: morning conditions can be cleaner with lighter offshore winds, while afternoon thermals can increase chop. On bigger swells, closure is reported when swell exceeds about 3 meters, so progression and careful wave selection are important. Access is relatively straightforward from Casablanca via motorway, with parking available near the beach entrance. The main safety emphasis is the river mouth environment: strong tidal currents, possible floating debris after heavy rains, occasional fishing nets, and murkier water after winter storms. When the tide is going out, currents can pull riders away from the beach, so plan self-rescue accordingly and respect fishing zones near the river entrance.
