La Sarga

La Sarga is a wave-focused kitesurfing spot on the Atlantic edge of the Dakhla peninsula, known for crystal-clear water and a big beach. The wind is mainly NE/N (North-Northeast trade winds) with summer thermal reinforcement that typically strengthens during the afternoon, and it’s generally reliable in the May to September window. For kitesurfing, the prevailing side-offshore flow is described as supporting clean, down-the-line wave riding. Providers consistently characterize the spot as best for advanced riders seeking wave sessions rather than flatwater—conditions can be gusty near the point and can vary depending on where you are relative to the point itself. Surfers also benefit from the spot’s point-break setup, with a long right-hand wave described as peeling and capable of very long rides on good days. However, catching waves can be more difficult when winds are strong, and the area is remote enough that wave-day planning and self-sufficiency matter. The most important safety consideration is the fishing nets. Reports highlight that nets are frequently placed in the riding area (marked with poles), creating a real risk to fins or lines.
