Kbeir (Salé)

Kbeir is an exposed reef and jetty surf break near the Bou Regreg river mouth on the Salé side, serving the Rabat–Salé area. The spot is typically active with waves and is described as a left-hand reef/jetties break with opportunities across tide stages. Surf quality is generally rated good to average depending on conditions. It works best when the swell comes from the northwest (with an additional working swell window described around the west to northwest sector) and when winds blow offshore from the east-southeast/east, helping keep the waves cleaner. On larger Atlantic swells, conditions can shift toward heavier and messier surf, so larger-swell days require extra caution. Safety is the main concern here. The launch and takeoff involve reef and jetty infrastructure, with sharp rocks and submerged reef sections noted hazards. Pollution from the Bou Regreg river can be a major factor—especially after rain—so checking water quality before entering is strongly recommended. Currents can also be stronger near the jetty/entry area. Locally, the spot is described as generally unlikely to be too crowded even when the surf is up. Overall, Kbeir is best suited to intermediate surfers, particularly those comfortable managing a reef/jetty environment and assessing conditions carefully before committing to entry.
